Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser on subsequent visits and remember certain preferences or states. Cookies do not contain executable code and cannot directly identify you by name — they work through a unique identifier stored in the file.
Similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, and local storage items may also be used for comparable purposes. This policy covers all such technologies when used on the KasihTap website.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
We use four categories of cookies, distinguished by their purpose and the consent they require:
- Essential Required for core site function. These cannot be disabled without breaking the site.
- Analytics Help us understand how visitors use the site. Require your consent.
- Preference Remember your settings between visits. Require your consent.
- Marketing Used by advertising networks to show relevant ads. Require your consent.
3. Cookies in Use on This Website
The table below lists the specific cookies set by the KasihTap website and the third-party services it loads.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| kasihtap_cookie_consent | KasihTap | Essential | 12 months | Stores your cookie consent preference so the cookie banner is not shown on every visit. |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Analytics | 24 months | Registers a unique ID used to generate statistical data on how you use the site. |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics (GA4) | Analytics | 24 months | Persists session state for the GA4 measurement ID associated with this property. |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Analytics | 24 hours | Registers a unique ID for distinguishing users across a single day's sessions. |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook) | Marketing | 90 days | Used by Meta to deliver and measure advertisements across Meta platforms and partner sites. |
| _fbc | Meta (Facebook) | Marketing | 90 days | Stores the click identifier when you arrive via a Meta ad, enabling conversion attribution. |
| MUID | Microsoft (Bing Ads) | Marketing | 13 months | Identifies unique web browsers for the Bing advertising network. |
| _uetsid | Microsoft (Bing UET) | Marketing | 1 day | Collects data on visitor behaviour for Bing Universal Event Tracking. |
Cookie durations are approximate. Third-party providers may update their cookie configurations independently. Refer to the provider's own policy for the most current details.
4. Essential Cookies — No Consent Required
Essential cookies are set when you first visit the website and cannot be turned off in our system. They do not store personally identifiable information. Examples include the cookie that records whether you have accepted or declined optional cookies, and session cookies required for any secure form submission.
Because these cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function, we do not require your consent to set them under Malaysia's PDPA framework and the applicable communications legislation.
5. Analytics Cookies — Consent Required
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors find and use the website. Information collected includes pages visited, time spent on each page, the browser and device type used, and the general geographic area (city level, not street address). All data is aggregated and anonymised before we review it.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) for this purpose. Google may process data on servers outside Malaysia. Their data processing terms are available at policies.google.com. Analytics cookies are set only after you give consent through the cookie banner.
6. Marketing Cookies — Consent Required
Marketing cookies are set by third-party advertising platforms — in our case, Meta (Facebook Pixel) and Microsoft (Bing Ads). These platforms use the cookies to attribute conversions, measure ad performance, and in some cases show you relevant advertisements on their platforms after you have visited our site.
We do not control how Meta or Microsoft use data collected through these cookies. Their respective privacy policies explain data handling in detail. Marketing cookies are set only after your consent is given.
7. Third-Party Content
This website embeds a Google Maps iframe to display our service location. Google may set its own cookies when this content loads, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If you have declined analytics or marketing cookies, this embedded content may still cause Google's own cookies to be set on your device, as this is controlled by Google rather than KasihTap.
We do not embed social media widgets or video players that would independently set third-party cookies beyond those listed above.
8. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can update your cookie preferences at any time using the following methods:
- Cookie banner: When you first visit the site, a banner allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. If you wish to change your choice, clearing your browser's cookies and reloading the page will re-display the banner.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to view, delete, or block cookies through their settings menus. Refer to your browser's help documentation for guidance. Note that blocking essential cookies will affect site functionality.
- Opt-out tools: Google Analytics opt-out is available via the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Meta ad preferences can be managed at facebook.com/adpreferences. Microsoft ad settings are managed at account.microsoft.com/privacy.
9. Cookie Consent Records
When you interact with our cookie banner, your consent choice is stored locally in your browser using a cookie named kasihtap_cookie_consent. We do not transmit or store this preference on our servers. If you clear your browser cookies, your preference will be reset and the banner will appear again on your next visit.
10. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. At present, there is no universally agreed standard for how websites should respond to these signals. Our site does not currently alter its cookie behaviour in response to Do Not Track headers. You can manage your preferences directly through the cookie banner or browser settings described in Section 8.
11. Policy Updates
This Cookie Policy may be updated when we change the cookies in use or when applicable law or guidance changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. We recommend reviewing this page periodically. If we introduce new categories of cookies that require consent, the cookie banner will reappear to collect your updated preference.
